Hassan Babiker currently heads Aramco's Strategic Transport Analysis Team, a global organization that performs technical analyses focused on the interplay between current and future transport technologies, climate policy, energy-use trends, and economic impacts. The role provides Hassan with unique insights on the latest climate driven developments in the global transport sector.
With over 20 years of experience in the transport and energy industries, Hassan started his professional career as an engine development engineer at Jaguar Cars in the UK. He joined Saudi Aramco in 2007 as a research scientist working on co-optimizing fuels and engines for transport applications with the goal of reducing life-cycle greenhouse gas emissions. He has since held various roles in Aramco before undertaking his current position in 2020.
Hassan graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 1999 with a BEng in Mechanical Engineering and completed his MSc at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 2001. He has co-authored 15 scientific publications, has been granted 2 patents, and is a recipient of the SAE's Harry Horning Memorial Award.
